About DOSBox Deathmatch Club!

DOSBox Deathmatch Club is a Discord server dedicated to primarily MS-DOS multiplayer games. We arrange events weekly.

This server was established by OpenRift on January 28, 2020. The server became public to invites as of January 31, 2020. DOSBox Deathmatch Club exists because there wasn't enough places that properly offer the opportunity to play DOS multiplayer games with other people.

DOSBox for the most part has been something that has a niche appeal for most people, but we also put out patches primarily for GOG releases of these games. These patches are usually made so you don't have to manually fiddle with DOSBox to open up a setup program or play multiplayer over IPX tunneling, as you can do this via a simple menu system. As of July 2, 2022 organization of DOS events now take place via Classic Gaming Arena (Last event with the now-old method took place in July 1, 2022)

Events formerly took place only on Saturdays until January 29, 2021 with the debut of Freeform Friday events.

Freeform Friday events is where we branch out from the supported MS-DOS games and play other 'potential' DOS games and as of April 23, 2021 we even play classic Windows games up to 2002 (with some exceptions).

On June 26, 2021, Members of DOSBox Deathmatch Club and Razorback came together for the QuakeWorld event to celebrate Quake's 25th anniversary and forming an alliance in the process. This also gave Razorback's Quakeworld servers more activity than it did before.
