Setting up Unreal Tournament on Modern HardwareUPDATE :As of November 2024, Epic has allowed the OldUnreal community to provide installers for Unreal, Unreal Tournament and Unreal II for free! Also a new OldUnreal patch came out which makes using foxWSfix redundant. This guide will help newcomers setup Unreal Tournament to work more proper on modern hardware. At the time of writing this guide, Unreal, Unreal Tournament and the other follow-ups were delisted as of December 23, 2022. It is now considered abandonware but if you join the Discord server, we could help you obtain a copy of the game. 1. Install Unreal Tournament (via CD, Steam or GoG, or anywhere else) 2. Install the OldUnreal Patch. At the time of writing this, the latest is v469d. They come out on either a .ZIP file or an .EXE installer, I recommend the .EXE installer because it's easier. "OldUnreal-UTPatch469d-Windows.exe" 3. For widescreen users, you'll need foxWSFix-UT99. Download the zip file from the latest version and extract it to your install of Unreal Tournament. This should fix the weapon view models looking odd as seen on this comparison below (without the fix on top and with the fix on bottom) 3b. Inside the System folder of Unreal Tournament, open up UnrealTournament.ini with a text editor of choice and find the following line: Replace it with the following :
